Nelson Marlborough Institute Of Technology
Description
The city of Nelson is found on the upper part of New Zealand’s
South Island, on part of the coastline boasting stunning
landscape. The Institute is located in the city center
with extensive gardens. Classes are small so as to make
learning the language easier and individual tutors are
available to assist students in their studies.
Accommodation
Student advisers at the Institute help students search
for and organize their accommodation. An interesting option
is the family homestay program. Families are carefully
selected as they will be in charge of introducing students
to the kiwi culture.
However, the Institute also has residence halls where
students can choose between single or double rooms. These
have computing, gymnastic and recreation facilities.
Academics
The Institute offers a wide range of courses. The courses
that are most in demand include the Intensive English
Courses, with morning and afternoon classes. These courses
start every two weeks. Exam preparation courses for Cambridge
and IELTS Examinations are also offered.
Activities
Nelson is a city with hundreds of attractions. Besides
playing sports, students have many places and museums
to visit, located near the school. It is common for students
to form groups among themselves and organize weekend outings,
visiting the outskirts of Nelson or a town in the nearby
area.
